Trick or Treat

I loooove Halloween, its my favorite holiday ever.

I took the kids to the park for a Halloween photoshoot

Red Riding hood

Little Witch

Skullzor

hahaha

We did not trick or treat because Joe had to go to work tonight so we just went to the party at our apartment complex, It was really neat, they had a costume contest and Evie got first place in her pirate costume

She kept going up to people and saying she was captain hook but they did not understand her, they though she wanted a "hug" so everyone would give her a hug LOL! so they called her "captain hug" she won a bucket full of candy, toys and and a blu ray movie (Shrek forever after) to bad we don't own a blu ray player. Sophie got a bucket full of candy, toys and a DVD (Nanny Mcphee) Nick got a bucket of candy and toys. There were not alot of kids there so they tried to give everyone a prize.

Well, they also had a pumpkin carving contest that both Nick and I entered. Turns out we were the only ones who entered so we won dinner and movies for two.

And of course, its not Halloween without the classic "Its the great pumpking Charlie Brown"

plus our Papa Murphy's Jack o Lantern Pizza

Happy Halloween

Apples and Pumpkins

APPLES!

Ever try to make caramel apples? its not as easy as it looks. I don't know what the trick is but the caramel did not want to stick to the apples and then the toppings would slide off as well. LOL Oh well, It sure was fun though.

TOMBSTONE

We took a trip to "The town to tough to die" Tombstone, Arizona. It was real neat to travel back in time to the Wild West.  We watched a re-enactment of the OK Corral shooting where Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday,Virgil and Morgan Earp fought the Clantons and McLaurys on October 26, 1881. But first, we had to get some grub!

We ate at the Longhorn restaurant, The oldest restaurant in Tombstone, It use to be called the "Bucket of Blood saloon" nice huh? and its where Virgil Earp was shot from the second floor.

I had the pulled pork sandwhich and it was pretty darn good. I laughed at Joe because he ordered the french dip, I for sure thought he would order a big steak or something.

At home I decided to try my hand at making my own pulled pork sandwhiches.

Not to brag but mine was way better. ;)

5lb pork loin rib roast
1-2 apples
3 cups of rootbeer
2 bottles of honey BBQ sauce
hamburger buns or bread (whatever you have)

place the pork in the slow cooker with 3 cups of rootbeer and sliced apples. simmer on high for about 6 hours. When its falling off the bone and pulling apart, shred it and mix with the two bottles of BBQ sauce.

Sooooo good.

Yummy fall food

Even though we still have our AC on full blast here in Arizona, I still wanted to make fall food. I used our Crock pot for Chili and baked a pumpkin pie.

The Crock pot came with a recipe for Chili and I thought I would use it. Well, I don't know what it was but it did not taste good at all, I ended up throwing in some of my own ingredients like rice, salsa and some spices. In the end it was delicious!

I also just threw whatever I wanted into the pumpkin pie recipe, I was using the recipe off the can of pumpkin puree but since I don't like nutmeg I added cinnamon and pumpkin spice, I just sprinkled some in and did not measure, instead of sugar I used splenda. I thought it was the best pie I have ever made. I think it had to do with me forgetting about it in the oven and it overcooked a little making it more firm

My awesome spiderweb table cloth from Kohls. The dishes are corelle that I got new in box at the thrift store.

This mug is my all time favorite mug ever, it has the American flag on it and the words "Land that I Love" :)  its of good weight and it fits perfectly in my hand. I also love the wide handle. It was purchased at the thrift store for .99 cents.

Both the hubby and I are total coffee junkies. we had pumpkin spice coffee with our meal. I swear I'm going to buy tons of the Coffee Mate pumpkin creamer and freeze it so I can have it all year round.

Guess where we went on Fall vacation?

That's right, the Happiest Place on Earth! I swear, You can be having a crappy week and as soon as you step in to Disneyland its like MAGIC. All your worries dissapear and its all about having fun and family time.

We attended Mickey's Halloween Party and we had a blast. The rides were all open and we got tons of candy.

We can't wait to visit again! meanwhile I brought home some Disney Magic. I got this adorable toast press

Just press it on white bread and wala! Mickey toast :)

Try to say no to that, Kids eat it up.

I also made some Mickey pancakes.

Make a round pancake and then add the ears with two small spoonfulls of batter

would you like some eggs with your ketchup?
