Miss Sophie Rose is 4

Today Sophie turns 4. We had a small Breakfast tea party for her this morning. Daddy flew in for the weekend so we had something small and intimate. Her big party is next month, where she will celebrate with extended family and friends.

Doesn't she look sweet? The dress I found at the thrift store last week. perfect for a girlie tea breakfast. I stayed up late last night to make the cake. We were originally not going to do anything and I was just going to take her to a tea room, just me and her, but we are all suffering from a cold and cough at home.

I had no idea what type of cake to make, but while at the grocery store last night, I found a big bag of smarties and decided to use them on the cake. Well, I started making the cake and could not find my pans. I only had one small one and ended up making 3 small seperate cakes (one at a time), it took forever! THEN, I made a huge batch of frosting and tinted it pink. It came out horrid! a bright neon pink, so not what I was invisioning, I ended up using that frosting for filling. I made one final batch of buttercream and tinted it with a very small amount of red food coloring. Giving the frosting this beautiful pale pink. I originally wanted to cover the whole cake with smarties but it was late and I was feeling really sick. SO, I ended up with this, I still think its cute ;)

I found my tea cups and plates, all odds and ends. Nothing really matches, but that just gives it a more charming feel.

I used two tea pots, one containing milk and the other apple juice.

I had a cute sandwhich cutter in my cabinet that I thought would add some whimsy, its a flower and ladybug PB&J.

I have no tablecloths or runners that fit my new table, I ended up using one of my old kitchen napkins that I made in 2nd grade. In Mexico, embroidery is a required course in school. I remember that right after math, we had embroidery lessons.

Can you tell that I sucked? why is the "Y" so far away from my name? hahaha at least the flowers look alright.

Some arroz con leche y pasas.

I was going to use this for cake filling, but changed my mind when I saw the hot pink frosting. I felt I had to use it someway.

Gosh, she was so exited

Making a wish! I never re-use old candles, once they have been wished upon, they can't be used again or the wish will not come true.

sophie opening her present. I did not have birthday wrapping paper, so I used reversed Xmas paper

She got a princess castle that I designed online. It has a ballet studio, and the princess looks like her (long brown hair and blue eyes)

Her favorite present, a new Disney Princess bicycle with a doll carrier.

Evie also got a new ride

Happy Valentine's Day!

yayyyy its Valentine's day! The kids had their usual school card trade and brought home lots of goodies.

Sophie's loot. She came home feeling sick. You can see it on her face.

After I picked up Nick, we had lunch, I did not feel like cooking or making anything so I went to Papa Murphy's and got their heart shaped pizza and a smore pizza. OMG, the smore pizza is so gooooood, it about put me on a diabetic coma.

This is my new table, and it was our first time really using it. I need to buy more chairs, but I'm probably going to get regular wood ones, I hope I can find some at the thrift stores. The chairs that come with this collection from World Market really suck! both are broken and I'm waiting on replacement parts.

I got the kids some little gifts, Evie got the white bear, Sophie got the owl and Nick got a little monster truck.

I even set up a "Valentine's" tree

It has heart shaped lights

The dishes/cups are from Pottery Barn Kids. I got them last year and we use them daily.

And here is a little something for me!

I got this beauty at the Tinkerbell Half Marathon convention. Its a Disneyland Tinkerbell Half Marathon Dooney and Bourke exclusive purse. I took it out of its package and tried it on. love the hearts and Tink.

Hubby is gone at work, but should be here this weekend. I'm trying to convince him to take us to the Renascence fair.

I did it!

I ran my first race. I did the Tinkerbell Half Marathon on January 29th.

I'm so proud of myself.

That weekened we drove to Californa and attended the expo

We got to hear Jeff Galloway and I even got to meet him. He was so nice and even signed my running bib.

My goal is to one day do the Goofy challange, That's when you run the half marathon and the very next day, you do a full marathon. You would have to be Goofy to do it ;) but you earn 3 medals, One for the half, one for the full and a Goofy medal for beign hard core

Even Cinderella has a special running slipper

Running through Disneyland, heading toward the castle

There were Disney Characters thoughout the race to take pictures with.

aaaaaaaaaaand all done! let me say, I was in total PAIN here. My foot and knee started hurting bad at mile 10 and I ended up walking the last 3 miles. Even about 3 weeks later I'm suffering from the pain, I'm waiting for a call back from sports medicine

Me and my Joe-Joe after getting my medal and some food!

Love my goodies! running is addicting, I already signed up for the Hollywood half marathon, but I really don't know If I will be able to do it. we will see what the doctor says.
