A 3rd grader and a tearful ballerina
Nick started 3rd Grade. Can't believe how much he has grown. He's such a great kid and adapts well to change. This is his 5th school he has attended. We move alot.
After school we all went to Chilli's to celebrate Nick's first day as a 3rd grade.
Here's to a new school year!
Well, Sophie started ballet. She kept talking about doing ballet all summer and was so exited. I even took her to visit some studios and she could not wait! We went and got her ballet shoes, a dance bag, some leotards and tights. The day of her first class she could hardly wait to get to the studio. Joe bought her cupcakes and I surprised her with a new ballet book "Miss Lina's Ballerinas"
So, we get to the studio and she's super giddy. We get her changed and class starts. She joins the group and starts bawling! she refused to dance or take part in the class :( nothing but tears. I asked why she was crying and she would just shrug. She did say she wanted to go again. ugh, toddlers!
Her special cupcake
This book is really cute. Its about a group of ballerinas learning to accept a new member into their group. I read it to the girls for bedtime at the end of the day
I got the dance bag at payless shoesource since they had their BOGO sale going on and that's where I bought Sophie's ballet shoes. I think its neat that the initial "ABT" on the bag are the same as Sophie's dance studio, The Arizona Ballet Theatre.

Eating Retro style at Ruby's Diner
I LOVE eating at Rubys, its so cute and retro and not mention that its at the end of the pier in Huntington Beach, beach with a beautiful view.
My momma took me and the kids to eat there while we were visiting this summer.
My Momma and Evie
Beautiful view of the beach from our seats
The kids got some cardboard train kits
Yummy!
Cherry coke! with a handfull of cherries and syrup in the bottom. Best Coke evah!
Then time for a stroll to walk it all off
and some castle building

A visit to Shareen Vintage
While in LA we went to visit Shareen Vintage. I heard of this place from the TV Show "Dresscue Me" on channel GREEN.
From their website;
A self-taught designer with retail outlets on both coasts, Mitchell is renowned for her ability to give new life to dowdy old duds by turning them into chic, fashion-forward frocks. To create these one-of-a- kind pieces, Mitchell welcomes her exclusively female clients into her hip boutiques in both downtown Los Angeles and New York
We made it a girls day out. My girls, Mom and very pregnant sister
My favorite section. Vintage 1950's
Shareen was so nice, she even took time to take pictures with us.
I'm holding the vintage apron I got. I love it its so pretty and perfect addition to my collection.
They even had children's vintage clothing. My awesome sister bought Evie this adorable dress.
I even added a vintage hair clip. Who remembers those little plastic hair clips that came in animal shapes? My favorite was the bunnies (which she is wearing) and the yellow duckies.
and since we are talking about fashion and hair. I wanted to share my pin curls. My mom did them for me. Just take small section, roll it like a doughnut and pin to the scalp.
I slep in the pin curls...........
And the end result in the morning. Very vintage
