Miss Sophie Rose is 4

Today Sophie turns 4. We had a small Breakfast tea party for her this morning. Daddy flew in for the weekend so we had something small and intimate. Her big party is next month, where she will celebrate with extended family and friends.

Doesn't she look sweet? The dress I found at the thrift store last week. perfect for a girlie tea breakfast. I stayed up late last night to make the cake. We were originally not going to do anything and I was just going to take her to a tea room, just me and her, but we are all suffering from a cold and cough at home.

I had no idea what type of cake to make, but while at the grocery store last night, I found a big bag of smarties and decided to use them on the cake. Well, I started making the cake and could not find my pans. I only had one small one and ended up making 3 small seperate cakes (one at a time), it took forever! THEN, I made a huge batch of frosting and tinted it pink. It came out horrid! a bright neon pink, so not what I was invisioning, I ended up using that frosting for filling. I made one final batch of buttercream and tinted it with a very small amount of red food coloring. Giving the frosting this beautiful pale pink. I originally wanted to cover the whole cake with smarties but it was late and I was feeling really sick. SO, I ended up with this, I still think its cute ;)

I found my tea cups and plates, all odds and ends. Nothing really matches, but that just gives it a more charming feel.

I used two tea pots, one containing milk and the other apple juice.

I had a cute sandwhich cutter in my cabinet that I thought would add some whimsy, its a flower and ladybug PB&J.

I have no tablecloths or runners that fit my new table, I ended up using one of my old kitchen napkins that I made in 2nd grade. In Mexico, embroidery is a required course in school. I remember that right after math, we had embroidery lessons.

Can you tell that I sucked? why is the "Y" so far away from my name? hahaha at least the flowers look alright.

Some arroz con leche y pasas.

I was going to use this for cake filling, but changed my mind when I saw the hot pink frosting. I felt I had to use it someway.

Gosh, she was so exited

Making a wish! I never re-use old candles, once they have been wished upon, they can't be used again or the wish will not come true.

sophie opening her present. I did not have birthday wrapping paper, so I used reversed Xmas paper

She got a princess castle that I designed online. It has a ballet studio, and the princess looks like her (long brown hair and blue eyes)

Her favorite present, a new Disney Princess bicycle with a doll carrier.

Evie also got a new ride
